The magazine appeals to the target audience as the music is up to date with what everyone is listening to. Rock sound target an audience aged 15-24 because the bands are well known and appeal to those that like rock. The magazine is also appealing to those aged 15-24 because inside the magazine it advertises and reviews festivals and festivals are mostly targeted to those who're teens that listen to music the most. The fonts appeal to the target audience because it's bold and stands out, the colour of the writing suggests a dark/scary theme which is a way some people may describe rock and therefore the cover is easily understood. Gerard Way, the man on the front cover appeals to the target audience as he's well known for being in the group My Chemical Romance which appealed to many youngsters from 2001-2013.

The magazine appeals to the target audience because most of the target audience are aged 15-24 which is quite young and therefore the magazine needs to have up to date music and use bands that are known instead of bands that were around before the target audience were born. The general colours for the Q magazine covers is a strong bold red in the masthead which is in the top left corner to draw the attention to the magazine which the letter 'Q', this appeals to the audience because red is a bright colour and is easily recognisable.

Kerrang aim their magazines at young adults that want to listen to find out information about bands and to be introduced to new music/bands Kerrang raches more young people than any other magazine and this is because Kerrang offers a variety of bands and scenes to try and reach the demands of each reader. Kerrangs masthead always has the letters cracked to show rebellion and to show the reader what the magazine is about and that would be rock. The magazine also uses bright colours instead of just one bold statement colour like Q. This is because Kerrang want to draw the readers attention to everything that the magazine has to offer.
